What if you discovered an old apartment covered with forty layers of wallpaper? What if these layers could be peeled back to reveal the stories of past tenants?

Layer the Walls explores stories of a tenement apartment in New York City that was once home to hundreds of new immigrants. Shadow and Bunraku puppetry, along with masks, bring to life the stories of Irish, Italian and Jewish families whose actions influenced the world we know today.
