A Christmas Celtic Sojourn - Streaming Concert
The 17 year-tradition of A Christmas Celtic Sojourn continues!
In light of pandemic, Brian O’Donovan offers a virtual A Christmas Celtic Sojourn for you to enjoy, gathered with loved ones in the safety of your own homes. He and the artists will perform virtually, singing together our familiar songs; dazzling as always, with musical creativity, visiting with some of our musicians around the world in their homes while sharing their holiday traditions. Brian will remain as host, introducing the artists, chatting with them about their lives, reading favorite poetry, and bringing a special story of remembrance and musings from his own West Cork Christmas.
Access to the virtual concert will by code and the show will stream in real-time. The performance will consist of two 40-minute halves with a 5-minute intermission. And, 48 hours after the broadcast, the show will be available for you to watch again.
Join us in celebrating the Celtic, Pagan, and Christian traditions of the season with this magnificent performance!
Our Christmas Celtic Ensemble: Seamus Egan (Banjo, Whistles), Maeve Gilchrist (Harp, Piano), Chico Huff (Bass), Owen Marshall (Bouzouki, Harmonium), Jenna Moynihan (Fiddle, Voice), Conor Hearne (Guitar, Voice), and Maura Shawn Scanlon (Fiddle, Voice, Viola).
Guest Musicians/Dancers/Singers. Cathy Jordan (Sligo, Ireland), Eilis Kennedy (Dingle, Ireland), Mairi Campbell, Siobhan Miller, and Hannah Rarity, (Edinburgh, Scotland), Aoife O’Donovan and Eric Jacobsen, (New York), Cara Butler, (Canada), Nic Gareiss (Michigan), and Windborne (Vermont).
